Not a FIFA sponsorship — something more local, and arguably more interesting if you're in Charlotte.
If you've seen "Chime" and "World Cup" mentioned in the same breath lately, here's the accurate version of that story — because it's not what most people assume.
The FIFA World Cup 26 sponsorship roster is locked in, and Chime isn't on it. Bank of America holds the title of Official Bank Sponsor of FIFA World Cup 26, sitting alongside FIFA Partners like Visa, Adidas, and Coca-Cola. If you're looking for the bank with FIFA's official global rights, that's Bank of America, not Chime.
Earlier in 2026, Chime announced a multi-year partnership with MLS, becoming the league's Official Retail Banking, Credit Card, and Debit Card Partner — its first major investment in professional soccer. That partnership includes presenting sponsorship of the 2026 MLS All-Star Game, played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Wednesday, July 29.
The overlap is real, just indirect: several players named to the 2026 MLS All-Star roster also played for their countries at this summer's FIFA World Cup, which ran across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. That includes U.S. Men's National Team players and international standouts who returned to MLS clubs in time for All-Star week. So while Chime's branding is on the All-Star jersey rather than the World Cup itself, plenty of the players wearing it were on World Cup rosters just weeks earlier.
The 2026 MLS All-Star Game pits the MLS All-Stars against a squad of All-Stars from Liga MX, Mexico's top division — a first for the event's format. It's being played in front of a home crowd for Charlotte FC, whose own players are represented on the MLS side.

Not really — a jersey sponsorship doesn't say anything about whether an app's fee structure or features fit your life. If you're curious whether Chime itself is worth using, that's a separate question with a separate answer: see the full Chime review for the fees, SpotMe overdraft coverage, and Credit Builder details.
